Cry me a river, Gaytors.

Anytime bloggers write a letter to the fanbase telling them to chill the 'eff out, it means they have doubts...such doubts.

But as a Georgia fan, who has endured losses to Mississippi State and Colorado, I would like to let the Gator fans know that if they want my sympathy they can find it in the dictionary between "s#*t" and "syphilis".

The Road to Recovery

I don't know about you guys but I had a good weekend. I left for Stillwater, OK on Wednesday and camped out for 3 nights. Had some pretty good food, hung out with some good friends, and helped UGA kickoff the season...however poorly the special teams were.

The loss hurt pretty bad, I know most people have already commented but I thought I'd share my POV as well.

- Road losses suck, but they suck worse when you make the trip expecting a win.

- With the exception of our first drive of the game, our offense seemed to play without purpose until there was a sense of urgency...and that's not good.

- There are no excuses, but I really hope Joe Cox was playing near his deathbed with sinus AIDS or whatever ailment he had.

- The defense looked pretty good, and at one point I was hoping Zac Robinson would continue to throw the ball because we were continually coming close to some huge pickoffs...unfortunately I wasn't thinking that during the second half of the game.

- If Dez Bryant doesn't make that touchdown catch to get OSU on the board before halftime, would Georgia have played a more motivated second half? The stadium was electric once they got points and it didn't seem to stop until we were down 24-10.

- Orson Charles had himself a pretty good game with a couple of huge plays. I expect a lot from our new freshman TE.

- Dan Patrick made it clear to me he isn't a fan of red pants, I made it clear to Dan Patrick I think he works in a dying medium.

Finally, the last thing I want to say regarding Oklahoma State is it was uncharacteristic of the Georgia Football I've come to expect. Where do we go if we drop another game before we hit what we thought would be the meat of our schedule? If it becomes clear Joe Cox isn't the Tee Martin we thought he was, do we revamp for Logan Gray (which David Hale doesn't think is happening) or should we give the reps to our future in hoping we have another Matthew Stafford on our hands?

I don't know what to tell you. The trip was fun, the game sucked, and the drive home where I arrive in Marietta at 10am Sunday sucked even more. I hope our guys just had some jitters and made stupid mistakes, but the turnovers and the "I'm gonna fall down the first time I'm hit" ideology had better get flushed REAL QUICK because it could stink up our stadium next week when South Carolina comes calling.

HAahaHa Wurld Sereez AnARky!!1

Just a quick post about the World Series.

I couldn't be happier with the World Series match up. For those who don't know, last night Tampa Bay _____ Rays beat the Bastan Rad Sax to advance on to play the Philthedephia Philthys in the World Series...aaaaaand SCENE!

For starters I can't stand people from Boston. It's not the person, it's...well...yes it is the person. It's the accent, it's the arrogance, it's the clam chowder, it's all that wrapped up in obnoxious New England paper that makes me wish they were still over in Old England. It was seeing tons of them on my honeymoon in Aruba wearing their stupid "I LOVE MY PATS" t-shirts that makes me think they all love their socially awkward, androgynous people.

Also, I hope the whole Postseason on TBS gig was a ratings BOMB for the once proud TBS network. I don't know why I care, but I hate the fact people in Oregon won't be flipping through their channels and see the Braves playing every single game of the season on TBS. This is the equivalent of me being a kid visiting my grandmother during the summer time, and NOT seeing the Cubs and White Sox play on WGN between The Golden Girls and Matlock reruns.
Ben Matlock, loved hotdogs, loved the Braves on TBS

Finally the last thing I'm gonna harp on about this. I will be cheering for the American League team to win for the first time ever. My grandfather would be ashamed, but I can't bring myself to cheer for the Phillies...I just can't. I love the fact there isn't a great backstory to this match-up. I love that it's not the Cubs and the Red Sox like Fox would have ideally wanted. I eat it up. There is a perfectly good backstory with the best team in the National League playing the best team in the American League, it's just a shame this doesn't work for the talking heads running the broadcast. As my Dad told me in reference to the monstrosity the All-Star Game has become, "When the whole production takes precedent over what is actually happening on the field, there is something wrong with the sport".

"Enough with the 'blackout', ok?"

If you ever tire of jamming rusty nails into your eyes and want to look at something really painful, check out Terrence Moore's articles he vomits up over at AJC.com.

All you need to know is the titular line of his "article" (article used loosely).

Enough with the ‘blackout’, ok?

He goes on to make some other fine points such as....

...and there you go.

Regardless of this, the only fun stuff in anything T-Mo writes is located in the comments section. The fun comes because 99% of Georgia knows Terrence is a racebaitor, the remaining 1% come from Clayton County schools and can't read. So here are a few of my favorite comments so far:

Can’t imagine your feelings if CMR had asked Bulldog Nation for a white out. Now that would be a hoot ! Go Dawgs

Terence, this one is a keeper. Never thought you’d have a negative word about anything black.

Moore against a blackout? Irony anyone?
I could just keep hitting refresh all day and get enough entertaining reading material to last me until Saturday.

...one more thing.

It's not Talk Like a Pirate Day, it's Friday September 19th or All UGA/Arizona State's Eve. Unless you are someone so out of touch with current running jokes you think something that was mildly entertaining 4 years ago is still relavent, then go ahead and celebrate. Just don't let it get in the way of your game of POGS you scheduled with Joey Lawrence later.

...nice video, jackass.

My boss, who is a die-hard UGA fan sent me this video. I'll admit it's a clever idea but it is riddled with multiple mistakes.

#1. Mistranslation: There is no way even Hitler would like Tim Tebow.
#2. If in fact Hitler was a UGA fan, he obviously wasn't a good one because he doesn't know the away schedule.
#3. Stafford has completed 3 more touchdowns than interceptions.
#4. Gators attempting to make denim over-alls catch on will never happen.
#5. I haven't seen him yet, but as a life-long subscriber to Dog Fancy magazine I know even the AKC recognizes younger english bulldogs are cuter than the older ones. Therefore Hitler wouldn't be as heartbroken about the death of UGA VI if he knew all the potential and adoration in store for the next UGA VII. (Though he may just be upset he didn't live to see his debut at the Georgia Southern game.)
#6. Larry Munson doesn't drink prune juice, the prune juice voluntarily goes down his throat just to be closer to that heavenly voice.

Things I Hate: Patience Edition

I consider myself a pretty patient person. When a salesmen, fund-raiser, or Jehova's Witness comes to my door I usually let them finish their schpeal before I shut the door. If a telemarketer calls I usually let them say who they are with before I hang up on them. See? Those are all qualities of a fairly patient person in my opinion.

Here are a few things I have zero patience for.

#1. People who don't know how to use the self-checkout.

There is nothing more pain-staking then seeing someone who doesn't need to be in the self-checkout lane attempt to figure it out. 9 times out of 10 it ends up turning on the "Please wait for assistance" light which slows everyone down. My wife and I have discussed this to the point where we are both in favor of people applying for a self-checkout license after passing a basic aptitude test. Just like the Kroger Plus Card, you have to scan it before you checkout and if you don't have one, wait in the cashier line with all the other people who have time to waste.

#2. Anyone in front of me in the ATM line.

This even goes for you, whoever you are, reading this right now. You are not as fast as you may think you are at the ATM. Don't try to argue this point, it's the truth, it's actual, everything is not satisfactual. What's worse is if you are heading out of town on a Friday and think you can swing by the ATM real quick and withdraw a few bucks for spending money, and every single day-laborer in Cobb County wants to deposit ten to fifteen $35 checks...no bueno, amigo, no bueno at all.

#3. LSU Fans

There is no possible way to have a civil sports-related conversation with these dirtbags. They give no inch, you take no mile. They can all geaux to heauxll.

#4. Anyone who doesn't think Haribo makes the best gummi bears.

You see that my friends? That's me 1/2 asleep with the 3 lb vanity bag (only available through limited distribution). If you want to talk sports, we'll talk. If you want to argue quality of gummi bears, we're gonna tussle! But be prepared for a fight because much like the dispised LSU fan listed above, I'll stick the barrel of a gun in your mouth before I conceed there is a better tasting gummi bear, I'm that serious.

#5. The "Tell us a little something about yourself" portion of Jeopardy.
I don't really have a picture of this as much as I have a video making fun of it. Honestly, I don't give a crap about your snow-globe collection or the fact you named your cat d'Artagnan because you like the literary works of Alexandre Dumas. Most of the time these people are complete nerds who don't do anything entertaining except appear on a show I like to try and shout out the answers to (between you and me, I don't shout them in the form of a question out of principle). So lets skip this petty BS and get back to Potpourii for $500, Alex.

The video below is a perfect example shown by Talk Soup as to how gay the "Tell us a little something about yourself." portion of Jeopardy is. Well played Joel McHale, you nailed my point exactly.

ugh...

Continuing my quest to title my posts today with "reaction words", I bring you a quick lunch-time story.

I brought my lunch to work today as I do most days. But today I just wasn't feelin' it. So I make my way over to the Checkers down the street from my warehouse. As I'm in my truck at the window receiving my order I see a big fat lady waddle up to the walk-up window and proceed to scream her order into the building.

The thing that got me was the fact she ordered "A NUMBER SIX COMBO UPSIZED WITH A CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE, WITH EXTRA TARTER SAUCE ON THE FISH SANDWICH AND 2 APPLE PIES".

...and I'm sure it looked just like this.

I will admit I find excessively obese people who indulge themselves slightly gross, but ordering the fish sandwich at a fast food restaurant might be the closest thing to telling someone "you know what? surprise me!" when you order. Because fish sandwiches are the equivalent of eating fried fish particle-board. Then to top it off with extra tarter sauce just makes my stomach turn...ugh, disgusting.

To tell both sides of the story I did order 2 Checkerburgers, a medium order of fries and a milkshake which isn't much healthier. BUT, I weight 155 lbs and I'm 6'4" and I've eaten like a pig my whole life which means 1 of 2 things.
#1 My wife hates the very air I breathe when I tell people I don't gain weight, because she thinks she fat even though she's skinnier than I am.
#2 I have better metabolism than Otis Nixon after just snorting 2 bumps of cocaine through a tampon applicator...which just like Otis' career in baseball will eventually fade away and I'll end up looking like the pregnant man who wasn't really a man at all, no matter what Oprah told you.

Guess what America? I just got away with putting a picture of a topless woman on my blog AND you're wife won't care that you're looking! Thank me later, preferably when you finish vomiting.

That pretty much sums up my rant. Now to really man this post up a little bit here's a picture of a guy trying to light his fart and the Jackyl music video for their song Lumberjack (which includes a chainsaw solo). Enjoy, my fellow man!

I don't know about you, but my chest hair just got a little thicker watching that.

Dawg Fans on Television

Lately I've noticed a couple of Georgia fans on several television shows. I think it'd be interesting if any of you guys knew them or knew of them if you wouldn't mind commenting about it.

#1 Lady contestant on American Gladiators.

When it came time for The Eliminator of the two women left, the contestant who didn't get the head start said something to the effect of. "You know Layla Ali, I think you might really be a man wearing women's clothing*, but I understand my opponent has a ____ second head start. I'm a Georgia Bulldog and we have a little saying called "finish the drill" and I'm not counting myself out of this yet!" She went on to lose, but none the less we knew where her allegiance was and I was rooting for her the whole time.

*okay I might have embellished this a little bit.

#2 Project manager on one of the 43 property-flipping shows on TLC, HGTV, or whatever channel you women watch none-stop.

This guy I've actually noticed him a couple times before, and I actually thought he got fired, but apparently not. This show takes place out in Los Angeles (which is a long way from home for a bulldog) and it centers around some guy who buys pieces of crap foreclosures, has contractors fix them up, bitches at anyone and everyone as to why they aren't helping get the property sold, then sells the place...what a novel idea. Anyway there is one fella' who I think is a project manager for the main guy; he's early, maybe mid-30's and always wears a Georgia hat. He usually does the job he's assigned, gets yelled at, and goes to do another job (...sounds a lot like marriage to me! HEY-OOOO!!!!!!!)

I have notice other people who aren't Georgia fans, but they are from Duluth (or maybe it was Dunwoody). Anyway, there are two whiny teenagers from Baby Borrowers who deck themselves out in Auburn stuff and do nothing but fight all the time. Here is a clip from Talk Soup referencing the aforementioned couple.

Perhaps they're preparing themselves for a teenage pregnancy and married life in the Midway Manor trailer park in Opelika.

Seriously though, how much more awesome would that be if teenagers could buy booze?!? I'm gonna write my congressman.

The Worlds Smallest Indoor Running Bet

This week thanks to the constant coverage of SEC Media Days in Birmingham we're getting fed a lot of information about the importance of the Cocktail Party this year.

It's how Urban Meyer plans to get revenge for The Celebration, or how Mark Richt insists people focus on the 2/2 record or the 46/37/2 rather than the culmination of the 90's +8 years. This year's game is big no matter how you look at it.

I just thought I'd take a moment to tell you about why it's big to me.

When Georgia recruited Matthew Stafford I did a little research to see if his hype matched his numbers out of high school...and they did. Many people think Stafford is overrated as an SEC quarterback, but I still think of him as the team leader with a TON of talent and the resources to bring UGA a National Championship.

After the Cocktail Party two years ago when Georgia was still trying to figure out their QB situation I was starting to grow restless with the production of true freshman Matthew Stafford (see the Colorado game of that season as a PRIME example).

Somewhere deep inside I knew he had the talent but he had to grow into it, that's when I made a little bet with a buddy of mine who is currently a grad-student at Florida. Lets just call him "Gayman".

Somehow LaGrange College attracted a small group of Gator fans who all joined the same fraternity, Gayman was one of them.

The year is 2006, I am hanging out with Gayman at a buddy's apartment playing Jeopardy (circa 1987) on Nintendo, we make a little wager.

I bet him Matthew Stafford wouldn't lose 2 of the next 3 games to Florida, he bet me Tim Teabag wouldn't lose 2 of the next 3 to Georgia. The winner will receive a bottle of the finest bourbon whiskey that $50 can buy as a congratulatory gift from the loser.

As we already know, the Dawgs decided to wear their ovaries on the outside during the Cocktail Party last year and it paid off with a victory. This year's game is big because it either signals the turning of the tide, or it verifies what most of the Gator Nation thinks was a fluke win while their golden-boy QB was injured.

To me a victory this year will have the sweet flavor of charred oak barrels (actually if we win or lose I'm gonna be smelling like booze either way). A loss will give the Gators momentum in the series again and I risk losing my bet, not an option.

One thing I think is uber-important is whether Stafford or Tebow decide to go pro after this year. #7 has a pro gun, #15 has the size/speed to be a pretty good back but I doubt he'd be a first year pro QB in the NFL. If Stafford goes and Tebow stays I don't think Logan Grey would be skilled enough to beat a Gator team led by Tim Tebow. If Tebow leaves and Stafford stays I think the Dawgs have the advantage. If they both leave I don't know enough about Florida's future backups to match it but I hear Logan is catching on pretty quick to the Dawgs offense. The final scenario is both QBs stay with their school and we play a game for all the marbles. THAT my friends would be a game for the ages. Two teams who despise each other led by two of the best senior quarterbacks in the game (and AJ Greene would be next in line for the Heisman after Knowshon wins it in 2008 and is awarded the one from 2007 as well because the committee saw the error of their ways.)

So long story short, I hate you Florida.

...is it football season yet?

One thing I hate about college football.

I absolutely love college football. Every year about 3 months before the first game, I get extremely impatient. These last 36 days (yes I'm counting to the Thursday night games) are like waiting for Christmas to come when you're a child. I love football so much I have purchased a ticket at Bobby Dodd Stadium to watch JSU play (and hopefully beat) the North Avenue Nerds. My only affiliation to JSU is high school band camp and my wife went there for one year before transferring to Alabama...that's it.

As the titular line of this post reads there is one thing I hate about college football. It isn't anything you can really explain, because it's a feeling. The feeling when your team loses is bad, but I don't hate it because it's just part of the game. What I hate is the feeling of thinking your team has won, and THEN losing in the final minutes. It's that kick in the nuts,
punch in the stomach, nausea you feel. Having the victory wind knocked out of your sails leaving you a little confused and when it's all said and done emotionally exhausted.

I'm including this video to provide an example. The year is 1985, I'm 3 years old and living in Moss Point, Mississippi without any knowledge of what's going on in Athens, GA. I could sense something, something wasn't right in the world. The balance of Yin and Yang was distorted and somewhere there was great distress. Even at such a young age I knew there was injustice happening; so I shed a single tear as I sat on my Sit & Spin and slowly stopped my rotation. That feeling was so awful, it still haunts me to this day when events like the following happen.

This might be the only video evidence of Alabama fans showing love toward Mike Shula.
