Sun Devils running for the hills!

I got this link from EDSBS but ESPN is reporting Arizona's Offensive Tackle, Richard Tuitu'u, who finished #1 on the depth chart just up and left the team.

Coach Dennis Erickson wanted to know what the hell was going on and found Tuitu'u in his dorm room stuck in the fetal position with a video of Rennie Curran blowing through OTs on loop.

Erickson said, "I've never seen anything like that get into a player's head so badly before. If Dick isn't willing to stand in front of a cannon with the fuse lit, I'll find someone else."

The ESPN report goes on to say red shirt freshman Adam Tello got talked into the job saying if he did it just for this one game (UGA) he'd get to play in the no contact jerseys the remaining games of the year.

I assume this is similar to how the weather channel makes the new guys go out on location during hurricane season.

"HOLY FRICK RENNIE I DON'T EVEN HAVE A HELMET ON!"

Vote for Georgia!

When ESPN isn't bringing us such hard-hitting information like who is more "Now", they fill the void for football junkies with fashion polls.

Paul Westerdawg had this up on his site so I'm linking it too. It's a vote for the coolest helmet contest. We're losing to Texas A&M right now...seriously?!? If nothing else I think UGA has one of the best "rewards program" in their bone shaped stickers. White for athletic acheivement, black for academic acheivement (I think). Regadless...

Follow this link and get us over the hump.

GO DAWGS!

Weekend Wrap-up

Well it was a pretty uneventful weekend. Just like Friday ended with me playing Rockband so did Saturday and most of Sunday.

We had some of Mrs. Mackalicious' Alabama friends over for a couple of tax-free shopping days. I didn't really purchase much, but my prize buys of the weekend came from a couple of shops at the Marietta Square.

#1- There is a pretty girlie store called Doodlebugz that has a pretty good selection of collegiate stuff. I bought myself a new pair of UGA Croakies to attach to my sunglasses for the upcoming football season, just to stay classy.

#2- There is an antique store across the street from McCrackin's Irish Pub that sells a ton of old vinyl albums. Being the music fan / interior decorator I am (I have my Pink Floyd albums framed in one of the bedrooms of my home) I went in search a few missing pieces of my collection. I found Pink Floyd's: The Final Cut and the Roger Waters solo album The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. Both are pretty rare and hard to find in good condition.

That was pretty much the extent of my tax-free spending spree, yes the records were tax-free because the dude told me if I paid him in cash he wouldn't charge me tax because Visa would leave a paper trail of what was sold...so there you go.

No big stories, I'm actually working on throwing some UGA stuff together because I think it's been nearly a week since I did anything sports related. Sorry 'bout that.

OH, one more thing (you can tell I write this blog as things flow from my mind because this is WAY off where the topic started). I mentioned last week I was going with my family to the Stone Mountain Laser Show. It's been a family tradition of ours to go to the laser show once a year and this year they changed it up. I personally think it's much worse, but then again I tend to fall on the traditionalist side of most arguments.

Here's where they went wrong.

#1 Leaving out the godfather of soul, James Brown. That's right, no Livin' in America.

This Laser Show sucks. I'ma take it to tha' bridge! ...and throw it ova'!

#2 Elvis' American Trilogy was the SECOND song. Stoney Jackson, Bobby Lee, and Jeff Davis were definitely not happy with this move, you could tell because not ONCE during their portion of the show did they smile...or it could be because they were losing the War of Northern Aggression. American Trilogy has long been the set-up song to Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA as a closer. Queen never played We Will Rock you without DIRECTLY following it with We Are the Champions...same mistake here.

Thank you, thank you very little.

#3 THEY DIDN'T EVEN PLAY GOD BLESS THE MOTHER FESTIVIN' USA! I couldn't believe it. They kept that stupid synthesizer song with a bunch of crappy trapezoids and geometrical shapes...but they didn't keep Lee Greenwood's most significant contribution to southern patriotism!??! THAT'S SOME HORSE SHIRT! Instead there was some Gawd-awful version of the national anthem done by Sandi Patty. That woman shrieked out verse after verse of the song trying to make the dogs over in Rockdale County howl along with her and it was absolutely HORRIBLE! When the lights came up after that I was seriously in disbelief as to how bad that song was.

A Golden Patriot

A Golden Corral Patron...but you can't blame her, the rolls are fantabulous!

Well, that's pretty much my review of it, perhaps I'm way outta line. I wasn't too thrilled with it, but then again my job isn't to play music and shine lasers at a big rock while drunken rednecks gawk with their mouths open on the lawn. But I tell you, if it WAS my job, they'd throw me in jail for manslaughter because so many minds would get blown!

Ahhhh, football.

I don't know about ya'll but I'm ready for some football. I ran across this picture while trying to find some info on a story I'd heard about UGA II pee'ing on the cage of Mike the Tiger. Just seeing it made my nipples hard at the thought of UGA VII running out onto the field for the first time with the rest of the non-arrested, non-suspended, non-probated team.

If anyone can verify the story for me, I heard it went like this. UGA II walked up to the cage that housed Mike the Tiger during a Georgia/LSU game. Mike the Tiger came up to the bars and let loose a loud ROOOAAAARRRRR!!!! and got the LSU faithful all fired up. Little did the LSU fans know but UGA II was deaf because of heat-related injuries from a previous Picture Day (where he nearly died from heat exposure running an internal temp of 107). So UGA looked up at Mike the Tiger not the least bit intimidated, hiked his leg up and let loose a golden shower of indifference upon the cage.

Again, I think I heard this in a TV special or something a while back. Am I making this up?!?

I hate to break this...

...and I hope I'm wrong.

But a friend called me who is an inside source with the Atlanta Braves PR group and told me Skip Carey died today. As of 8:05pm when I heard it hadn't been put up on AJC. I really hope I'm wrong on this because I am a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and the voice that is Skip Carey. I guess we'll find out in the morning. If not I want to be the first to honor his memory with this, his greatest call. If Skip is still alive, I still want to put this up because it's one of my favorite moments in sports history and it makes me appreciate him even more.

...alright, it looks like the video of Sid Bream sliding into home plate during the 1992 NLCS is one of the many sports clips not available on YouTube because baseball is run by a bunch of douches. Instead, I'll post the call via transcript.

"A lotta room in right-center, if he hits one there we can dance in the streets. The 2-1. Swung, line drive left field! One run is in! Here comes Bream! Here's the throw to the plate! He is...safe! Braves win! Braves win! Braves win! Braves win!...Braves win! They may have to hospitalize Sid Bream; he's down at the bottom of a huge pile at the plate. They help him to his feet. Frank Cabrera got the game winner! The Atlanta Braves are National League champions again! This crowd is going berserk, listen!"

God speed, Sir.

UPDATE:
Apparently it is true, I heard it verified on the 10pm news...crap.

A Baptist Confessional

Alrighty, it's time for me to come clean. I posted earlier this morning my plan to get some housework done, then hit the posting hardcore. I have fallen short of your glory.

My readers, who art in Georgia, anonymous by thy name. Yea across the state thine own workdays be drawing closed, mine own hast n'ere to start. For I have heeded the call of the gods of rock & roll. As the 31st day of the 7th month of the 2008th year of our Lord ended yesterday, I followed the path before me to the land of bulk quantity. As the minions gazed upon mine own Costco card, those wearing badges led me to the promised land of electronics where I was cast into the den of Rockband. With electric drum-kit, guitar, and vocals staring me square in mine own eye, yea readers, I was sore afraid. Yet I emerged unharmed and victorious with Special Edition packaging firmly grasped. Though rated T for Teen all may bask in the glory of my vocals as I grace the land of East Cobb with a performance of Mountain's, Mississippi Queen.

...okay I'm running out of Biblical talk so I'm going to cut to the chase.

I finished my errands, now I'm going to play Rockband. I worked my tail off this week and trying to figure out how to cut and paste stupid pictures...correction...any picture of Les Miles with my wife's iMac isn't really sounding like fun to me right now. Seriously there isn't a way to right click with these blasted things and it iSucks.

I'll try to get a few things up this weekend if I find some time between shouting matches with the clerks at Bed Bath & Beyond about why shower radios should be tax free instead of Hannah Montana bed spreads. I just wish one time someone would call me Sir, without adding "You're making a scene".

Have a great weekend, we'll catch up Monday with the Weekend Wrap-up.

WOOooHooOOo BIRTHDAY!

It was exactly one month ago today (and since it is still a baby I can define achievements in months not years) that Blogging Pantsless came to life. I must say, as much as I've whored my blog out to anyone and everyone who would listen I'm pretty proud of the hits it's been getting and I definitely appreciate those of you who make it part of your daily routine.

Friday morning fart scene: Cult Classic Edition

Enjoy the comedy stylings of Pondo Sinatra from The Party Animal

As a side-note, yesterday was freakin' nuts at work, which explained the lack of posting, so I'm staying home today. I've got some cleaning to do before some friends get into town, but I've got some big plans for afternoon posting so check back with me later as you sit in your cube at 4:00 and the second hand starts moving backwards...AAAAaAaaGGGGGHHHHhHHHH!!!!1111
