Georgia Tech Wallpaper

Did you know if you wanted to visually tell the world what a dork you are, you can go HERE and download a sassy wallpaper for your computer desktop?!?

Nothing says, "Hi ladies, have you seen my collection of Star Wars Pez Dispensers?" like a GT Football computer background.

But you wouldn't want that, would you? Of course not. Chances are, if you're reading my blog on your own free will, you are a Georgia fan and know what a boobie looks like...in real life.

That's why you download THIS wallpaper instead!

...and the jokes write themselves.

Wanna piss off a nerd?

I did a little Photoshop work on this picture and it should (key word, SHOULD) print out perfectly to fit the LANDSCAPE format of a LEGAL size sheet of paper. Just print and hang prominently around your I.T. department and you'll have their second-life panties in a wad all day...you're welcome!

...you might need to do a little bit of "Save Image As" and then print it out, but I just gave it a test run and it worked.

Injury Bug: A Specimen

Injury bugs are highly concentrated in the northeastern quadrant of the state of Georgia. Though their bite is rarely fatal, the venom is known to be powerful enough to completely demolish any hopes/dreams one might have. The effects are usually permeated in knees, shoulders, elbows, or ACLs even though the bites generally occur in the ass-ular area. Once bitten the venom attacks the nervous system leaving a sinking feeling in the stomach and pain in the testes similar to a swift kick in the nuts.

I was surfing the interwebs yesterday and came across Bubba & Earl's post about what I'm most excited about with G-Day coming up. Just like everyone else I recognize this year is a bit of a strange bird. I'm not labelling it as a rebuilding year because we've got veteran leadership, it's just not the guys we've seen making headlines the last 3 years.

Options of their poll include:

-Battle at running back
-The freshmen quarterbacks
-How the team will cover injuries
-Seeing the game on ESPN
-Something else

My natural inclination was to immediately check the injury option because I'm a worrier. For years I believed Larry Munson when he told me we weren't big enough, strong enough, or fast enough to hang with our competition...all that stuff...I ate it up. Sure we were playing Western Carolina Community College for the Blind when Larry made said comments, but nonetheless if we didn't have our act together an upset could have happened, right???

With 5 of our 7 defensive ends out until Summer and now Kris Durham might need shoulder surgery I get the symptomatic sinking feeling commonly associated with watching the injury bug decimate your team.

Coach Richt stated he'll be the happiest coach alive in July (or June...or whenever he said all his injured players will be back). If nothing else, AJ Green says he's 100%. Right now that appears to be a shining beacon of hope in Spring practice.

Of course when you have 200-300 lb kids running into and falling all over each other injuries are bound to happen. I just hope the trainers are providing our boys with Tahitian Noni enemas and horse vitamin protein shakes in the meantime. The last thing we need is a team full of Mike Hamptons when we kick off the season in Stillwater.

ONE MORE THING:
A huge thanks to David Hale for linking my Percy Harvin Sir Smokes-a-lot post. It was a banner day for traffic yesterday at Blogging Pantsless with nearly 600 hits. A referral like that bumped David's Bulldog's Blog from Aficiando up to My Morning Crack status. I hope to draw some new readers from the exposure so thanks again. Good man, that David Hale...good man.

He's a Ford Truck Man.

We've all seen Coach Richt's Ford F-150 commercial. He touts:

-Sweat feeding the soul
-Mental & physical toughness
-Success on and off the field
-Outworking the competition
-Hooking up with the watergirl
-Georgia Saturdays being built Ford tough

Apparently, Newnan recruit Alec Ogletree got to experience this first-hand. Last weekend Coach Richt gave him a ride from the weightroom to practice during Junior Day in his truck. He talked to Alec about staying close to God, living life to the fullest, playing in-state where his family could come watch him play and how he wanted nothing but the best for Alec. What a classy guy.

Whos got 2 thumbs and has to use seatcovers so the charisma don't stank up his leather upholstery?

But what really interests me in this story is Alec Ogletree's top choice right now is...Miami?!?! It's not surprising because Miami is a crap hole, it's surprising because he HASN'T EVEN BEEN THERE. I think if this guy is used to the suburban nightlife of the best Newnan, GA has to offer...Miami would eat him alive. I think it'll only take witnessing a couple drive-bys, a few bad drug deals, and catching a bad case of Feugo Cubano from the local mistresses in order to send this kid packing back north to Georgia. Randy Shannon, I'm sure you will show this kid Miami's finest.

"You know Alec, Larry wasn't the only one they called Coker."

"Do you know what a hassa is, Alec?!?"

Of course I've never actually been to Miami either. But I assume it's alot like the movie Scarface...still. Overrun by Cuban gangsters, out of control coccaine usage, discos, and gunfights in broad daylight. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway I've said it before, I think the city of Athens is one of our greatest recruitment assests. We've got churches for the straightlaced kids and Toppers for the wild ones. If you want trouble you can find it, but it's not running rampant throughout the college town.

So hopefully Alec gets his visits in and comes back to UGA. This is out of Coach's hands now but the personal time riding in his truck couldn't have done anything but help. Rumor has it Paul Johnson is taking the same approach to landing his bounty of 2 and 3 star recruits for 2010.

Hurry boy! We gotta get over to the Varsity before the Nursing Students herd that way!

Happy Friday, Suckers!

Thank God for Photoshop...without it I'm nothing.

If Tech Ran Christmas

For those who go back to the early days of Blogging Pantsless (by early days I mean last July) and remember what I thought it would be like if Tech ran Atlanta, here is a Yule Tide follow up.

If Tech ran Christmas...

Not on my mantle. I think I'll just throw it into the fire.

If I were Santa I'd just use a GPS to guide my sleigh.

...ugh. Grosscusting.

Did you know Mrs. Claus was oriental?

This would be all over the place.

Alternative Helmets: Commie Edition

With the upcoming game against Vandy, I thought I would provide the Commodores (or Commies) with some alternative helmet designs to help them run with the Socialism theme.

One Week From Today...

As many of you may know already, I've purchased tickets to the JSU/Tech game for next Thursday. I will readily admit my doubts in JSU knocking off the Mustard Jackets in their season opener. But just in case the stars align, Ryan Perriloux is capable of carrying the weight of a much less skilled JSU team, Tech doesn't show up and/or the triple option is a triple bust...I wanted to say I was there. Plus I've got the football jones REALLY bad and anything that might give me a quick fix just to stop the shaking would be great (it helps that I get to root against GTU in the process).

Therefore, I consider this to be one of my finest master pieces in the division of Photoshop excellence. If one week from today I wake up and see this picture on the front of the AJC's sports section...I will not be going to work that day. In fact, if at said game the upset occurs, I might not even make it through the night. There will be a plethora of finger-pointing and Nelson-esq "HA-HA!"-ing going on in downtown Atlanta that night.
